I’m Serena, the designer and maker behind Cobi & Coco. After graduating from Central St Martins College of Art and Design, with a BA Hons in Textiles Design. I followed my dream to become a fashion designer working in Hong Kong and London before taking up a post as a senior designer for an international retail company.
Motherhood prompted me to slow down and relocate out of London to the Kent countryside with my young family. I was seeking something that allowed me to continue my passion for design as I always enjoy learning new skills and being challenged. I learned how to make sugar flowers and I fell in love with the art. I wanted to explore where I could take my new skill and in pursuit of my hobby, Cobi & Coco was set up.

I see baking as my creative outlet, an art form allowing me to work with my hands. Having grown up surrounded by chefs in my family, I frequently experimented in the kitchen and fell in love with baking.

Since setting up Cobi & Coco, I have had some fantastic opportunities including been asked to become a recommended supplier to several wedding venues in Kent, and the opportunity to supply wedding cakes to some of my dream venues including, Kew Gardens, Grosvenor House and Hedsor House. I am honoured and privileged to be the winner of the LUXlife Global Wedding Awards – Best Global Wedding Cake Service 2021, The Wedding Industry Awards – National and Regional Winner for Wedding Cake Designer Of The Year 2021 and UK Wedding Awards – Best Wedding Cake Company 2020.

I love working within the wedding industry, being part of a couple’s special day, and to be able to play a role in making a couple’s dream wedding day come true. It’s rewarding and allows me to explore my creativity with every cake I design. I do not make the same cake twice as I believe every couple is unique and their wedding cake should reflect this. This motivates me to be artistically adventurous to try new designs and techniques.

We first met Serena at a wedding fair at the orchard, we knew instantly we wanted her to make our wedding cake. Not once have we been disappointed, we had a lovely meeting where we got to taste some different flavours and we spoke about every tiny detail of our wedding my dress, bridesmaids dresses everything she completely designed our cake down to every tiny detail to match our wedding and it worked beautifully I have kept the top of our cake and it's now the centrepiece of our dining room table every last bit of the cake went I even had some of our guests ask if any was left so they could have some more, absolutely amazing cannot recommend enough Kelly
